About Drape Arm 1 Sconce
Glass shaped by hand
The glass spheres of the Drape Arm 1 Sconce are formed by hand, allowing them to be slightly less than perfectly round. Each glass sphere also features a signature SkLO detail, a rippling fire polished mouth which is created by a second dip into the molten glass, and then the piece is broken from the glassblower’s pipe and fire-polished, making each one different.
Movement and functionality
The hinged arm of the Drape Arm 1 Sconce is an example of the high standard of quality SkLO brings to its metalwork. Smooth in operation, the hinged arm elevates this sconce beyond the typical wall light. The field-adjustable cord means many proportions and installations are possible. From reading nooks to bedside locations to restaurant table lighting, the Drape Arm 1 sconce can bring a new dimension to many different interiors.
The possibilities of simplicity
The Drape collection is an investigation into the potential behind the idea of a simple cord-suspended pendant that displays the quality and variation of SkLO handblown glass. It begins, necessarily, with the basic Drape Pendant itself, but from there minimal additions are made, opportunities that add structure, shape and volume, to allow for the many varied designs and collections-within-collections, which make up the Drape collection such as the Drape Circle, Drape Hook, Drape Skirt and many more.
