About Drape Composition 2 Pendant
Glass shaped by hand
The glass spheres of the Drape Composition 2 Pendant are formed by hand, allowing them to be slightly less than perfectly round. Each glass sphere also features a signature SkLO detail, a rippling fire polished mouth which is created by a second dip into the molten glass, and then the piece is broken from the glassblower’s pipe and fire-polished, making each one different.
The addition of the third pendant and its new geometric shape – a flattened “ovoid” vs. a sphere – elevates the Drape Composition 2 with even more possibilities. These precomposed Drape “composition” lights are smaller multi-pendants that are more ready to perform with space, having been thought out by the SkLO design team.
The possibilities of simplicity
The Drape collection is an investigation into the potential behind the idea of a simple cord-suspended pendant that displays the quality and variation of SkLO handblown glass. It begins, necessarily, with the basic Drape Pendant itself, but from there minimal additions are made, opportunities that add structure, shape and volume, to allow for the many varied designs and collections-within-collections, which make up the Drape collection such as the Drape Circle, Drape Hook, Drape Skirt and many more.
