About Hold Pendant
The Craft of Glassblowing
The simple gesture of the glass element in the Hold Pendant, appearing to stretch from its hook as though still molten, is meant as a pure expression of the craft of glassblowing. Each piece is created, one at a time, entirely by hand by skilled glassblowers. Intentionally different every time, no two are exactly alike. When used in groups, these subtle differences create a sublime effect.
Simplicity of glass and brass
The relationship between the beauty of our handblown glass and the means used to bring light to it is paramount to our philosophy at SkLO. We approach the design of our lights with an emphasis on maintaining the elemental simplicity of the glass. In the Hold Pendant, the lighting element is suspended within the glass by an exposed fabric electrical cord. This preserves the relationship between the glass and the hook from which it hangs, creating another unique aspect of the overall design.
