About Float 2.0 Pendant
Glass shaped by hand
The glass spheres of the Drape Linear Chandelier are formed by hand, allowing them to be slightly less than perfectly round. Each glass sphere also features a signature SkLO detail, a rippling fire polished mouth which is created by a second dip into the molten glass, and then the piece is broken from the glassblower’s pipe and fire-polished, making each one different.
Pushing the limits of glass
Produced without the use of a mould to give it shape, the spheres of the Float 16 and Float 20 Pendants are meant as a pure expression of handblown glass, and the skill of the Czech glassblowers who produce SkLO glass. The Float 20, at 20”/500mm diameter, is the largest free-blown sphere possible. Perfect signature details for sleek interiors of all kinds.
The possibilities of simplicity
The Drape collection is an investigation into the potential behind the idea of a simple cord-suspended pendant that displays the quality and variation of SkLO handblown glass. It begins, necessarily, with the basic Drape Pendant itself, but from there minimal additions are made, opportunities that add structure, shape and volume, to allow for the many varied designs and collections-within-collections, which make up the Drape collection such as the Drape Circle, Drape Hook, Drape Skirt and many more.
