2022 saw the opening of The Madrona, an 1881 estate which was purchased, fully renovated, and re-opened as a 24-key boutique hotel by San Francisco interior designer, Jay Jeffers. Located outside the town of Healdsburg in Northern Sonoma County, the heart of California wine country, the Madrona is a historical gem. Its guestrooms are spread across the property’s 8 acres, found within the original mansion, the carriage house, and a series of bungalows at the edges of the grounds. For many of the guestrooms, Jeffers chose the SkLO Twin 1.0 Sconce in dark oxidized brass hardware and white palette glass.
“The Madrona is such a great project,” says SKLO Partner and Lead Designer, Karen Gilbert. “What I love about the lights of our Twin collection is the timeless quality of their design, and how flexible and approachable they are when it comes to working within any interior style. They are so at-home and successful within the rich historicism and traditional details of Jeffers’ design at The Madrona, yet they also work just as well within sleek modern interiors.”
“When designing the hotel, it was important for me to respect its historic architecture and 19th-century roots while reimagining the property to be more modern and exciting for today’s traveler,” said Jay Jeffers to Sonoma Magazine.
