Like the SkLO US headquarters, the h2hotel is located in Healdsburg, California. In 2015, Circe Sher – a partner at Piazza Hospitality, which owns and operates many of the boutique hotels in the area including the h2 – approached SkLO to help style a large, open steel shelving unit in the hotel’s lobby. SkLO partner and lead designer Karen Gilbert worked with Sher to curate a selection of SkLO glass for the space.
The shelving acts as a screen between the lobby entrance and a seating lounge. Glass walls define the edges of both spaces, so the shelving always has natural light either in front of it or behind it.
“I treated it like a stained-glass window,” Gilbert says. The story of the collaboration is featured in the hotel’s in-house magazine (below).
