SkLO has expanded the number of options available for the DRAPE ARM 1 Sconce. We now offer two arm lengths: The original 18″ (46cm) arm, and the new shorter 9″ (23cm) option.

We are also offering a second glass size: In addition to the original 4 1/2″ (11cm) diameter, we have added a larger 7″ (18cm) diameter option.

We introduced the DRAPE ARM 1 Sconce in 2018. It proved to be an instant success. A simple lit glass sphere hangs from the end of a sturdy brass arm from a length of fabric cord. The cord passes through the arm and drapes elegantly exposed from the wall plate.

Consistently specified for both residential and hospitality projects, the operability of the design – it can swing 180 degrees from side to side on an integral hinge – appeals to designers. Solid brass construction, unique hand blown glass, and a pared-down aesthetic made it a SkLO essential.

Add all of this to the standard options of the DRAPE collection – 5 glass colors, 4 cord fabric colors, 2 brass finishes – and you have a flexible design that can fit into multiple interior palettes and concepts. All SkLO lights are built-to-order so that we can offer this level of customization options to our designer clientele.

“The DRAPE collection explores the potential behind the idea of a simple cord-suspended pendant which displays the quality and variation of SkLO handblown glass,” says SkLO Design Partner, Karen Gilbert.

“The DRAPE ARM 1 Sconce is the first DRAPE collection design for the wall. Typically SkLO, we did not overthink the design but rather spent time on the few details. Getting the hinged arm just right was really important, so that the quality of construction and craftsmanship comes through when the light is moved back and forth. The effortless relationship between the solidity of the brass arm and the softness of the swagged cord is a beautiful composition.”
