About Kin Light
A product of tradition and craft
The glass cones of the Kin Light are handblown without the use of shaping moulds, making them a testament to the skill of the Czech glassblowers who produce the SkLO glass and to the ancient craft tradition they still practice. The opaque white color applied to the bottom of the cones is applied in an intentionally uncontrollable technique. These processes of making the work insure that the work is unmistakably handmade, and each one slightly different – a key element of SkLO design philosophy.
A simple flexibility
The Kin Light rests atop three small brass risers, allowing the electrical cord to pass beneath the glass and allow some light to escape, as well. The socket is separate from the glass and has a solid brass disc as a base. It is meant to simply sit beneath the glass, and allows the lit cone of glass to be as pure and simple as possible. The three sizes of Kin Light make it work for many different needs, from floor light to many different types of furniture or shelving.
